I am Rory Meek and I have been twice W3 for my age group in BMX racing and I am the current U12 US Open MTB Champion. During my bmx racing years I was sponsored by Thrill Bikes. Now racing downhill mountain biking, I am stoked to be sponsored by Pro Bike Shop, MeekBoyz, MTB Mag Asia and Loose Riders Global Alliance.
I currently race on a 24 full-carbon, dual-pivot, Meekboyz Beast bike. I first started racing at age 5 and won the South Island No.1 BMX title for my age group. The following year I won NZ1 and qualified to race for New Zealand at the World BMX Championships. I came W3 in Auckland, New Zealand then again, a year later W3 at Rotterdam, Netherlands.
While most kids my age love screen time, I like to be outside doing things, building things and riding my bikes and scooter. I do run an Instagram account however to document my adventures. I like riding fast trails on my downhill bike and my squishy suspension means I can hit bigger jumps than most.
I have been travelling to races around the world with my parents since I was age five. My favourite race event is the US Open MTB because the prizes are the sickest ever. This year I won a Horizon Hobby RC car for first place. My other favourite races are the World Tour Crankworx events. I have been to Crankworx Rotorua and Crankworx Whistler for the last three years and have medals from the different Kidsworx events.

I like to train and it comes naturally for me after racing BMX for five years at five world BMX Championships in Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. I wish I was sixteen so I could also train in the gym though! Most of my training is outside doing sprint training, trail riding, exercise sets and sometimes TRX with my dad. I like to push myself hard and I do not like to give up. I love a challenge.
I enjoy racing and travelling because I get to make many new friends and ride with them on the slopes. We all keep in touch by Instagram.
My last downhill race was at Yunnan province in China. I won the bronze medal for the youth group. It was fun to race there because even though I am a kiwi, I have grown up most of my life in Hong Kong, China. My dad built a bike park in Hong Kong for my brother and I to develop our skills and learn to jump right. Riding in Asia is fun and I have raced events in Thailand, China and Indonesia. The events always have so many good prizes and I get to travel to new places I have never been. The people I meet are always so friendly and we like to ride laps together.
When I grow up I want to be a professional downhill racer. I like to train hard and ride hard. Riding is life and it takes me so many rad places.
