Back After Six Years, Bigger Than Ever

After a six-year hiatus, one of China’s most iconic mountain bike festivals made a powerful comeback. The 2025 South China International Two-Wheeler Extreme Sports Invitational Tournament returned on November 15–16 at Feifan Mountain Bike Park (Guangzhou) — and the revival was nothing short of spectacular.

Nearly 600 riders from eight countries — including France, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and regions across China — gathered to race, ride, and celebrate the massive growth of mountain biking in Asia. Thirty-six major cycling brands joined the event, helping transform Feifan Mountain Bike Bike Park into one of the most vibrant MTB playgrounds in the region.

A Classic Event Reborn — Now International, Bigger, and More Complete

The “Two-Wheeler” race series has been a legend in South China for years. In its return, the organisers teamed up with the newly built Feifan Mountain Bike Park, combining old-school prestige with world-class modern trail design.

The revamped event featured eight major race formats, each supported by top industry brands:

  • Merida XCO Cross-Country
  • SYB 2X Dual Slalom
  • KMC Pump Track
  • Kenda 4X Dirt Dual
  • Novatec Enduro – tackling three special stages
  • S-RIDE E-MTB Enduro – three additional e-MTB-specific stages
  • HT Downhill
  • Feifan Mountain Bike Park Trials Competition

The goal was clear: bring Asian MTB competition in line with global standards, nurture the next generation, and create a platform where passionate riders can simply “make friends through bikes.”

Day 1 — XCO, Dual Slalom, Pump Track, and 4X Fire Up the Mountain

Merida XCO: A Legend Returns

The biggest storyline of the day?

Kohei Yamamoto, the Japanese MTB icon with 10 Asian XC titles, arrived with the Asia Union TCS pro team.

Now a coach, Yamamoto took 8th in the Elite Men XCO, while his athlete Ayaka Hiyoshi dominated the Women’s XCO for the team’s first gold.

“The track may be short, but the technical difficulty is high. Very complete event — if this becomes a UCI points race, you’ll see even more top riders here. I hope to come again next year.”

SYB 2X Dual Slalom: Korea vs. Taiwan Showdown

Korean BMX national rider Hong Ju-Ho battled Taiwanese rider „Dan“ Jiang Sheng-Shan, edging out the win by the smallest margin.

Hong wasn’t done yet.

KMC Pump Track: Smallest Rider, Biggest Cheers

The youngest rider of the entire event — just 4 years old — lined up in the kids’ Pump Track category, showing the future of Asian MTB is bright.

In the Open Category?

Hong Ju-Ho took another gold, becoming double winner of the day.

“This is my first time racing in China. So many young riders here! And such an amazing bike park. I will definitely come back.”

Kenda 4X Dirt Dual: Tactics Decide the Crown

The 4X final delivered some of the loudest crowd energy of Day 1.

Finalists included:

  • Simon Chapelet – fresh European Champion
  • Zhang Si-Qi – Shenzhen XDS Team
  • "Dan" Jiang Sheng-Shan
  • Zhang You-Lun

In a brilliant tactical run, Zhang You-Lun (Taiwan) took the victory.

Day 2 — Trials, Enduro Battles, E-MTB, and the Downhill Grand Finale

Feifan Trials: Technical Precision On Display

Under the guidance of China’s trials icon Yao Zhi-Ling, riders attacked the pro-designed sections.Master Class champion: Jiang Ji-Song.

Novatec Enduro: Decided by 0.7 Seconds

A fierce duel between „Dan“ Jiang Sheng-Shan and European champ Simon Chapelet ended with Jiang taking the win by just 0.7 seconds.

S-RIDE E-MTB Enduro

Akki Pro Team’s Chen Jun-Xi (“Cat Boy”) claimed the Men’s Open title.

HT Downhill — The Weekend’s Main Event

The DH finals delivered the biggest crowds and the tightest racing.

Women’s DH — A Four-Gold Queen Emerges

Shenzhen XDS “Little Bear Team” rider Zhou Pei-Ni took the DH win, defeating Beijing NTP rider Li Hai-Xin after two days of close battles.

Across the weekend, Zhou Pei-Ni won:

  • 2X
  • 4X
  • Enduro
  • DH

Four gold medals — the biggest winner of the entire event.

Men’s Elite DH — A New Star Rises

The top three all finished within one second, all around the 2:12 mark.

Final podium:

  1. Tu Xuanzhou – WINICE Factory Team
  2. „Dan“ Jiang Sheng-Shan
  3. Simon Chapelet

The 2-year-experienced young racer “Xiao Tu” surprised everyone, earning his breakout victory.

“I’ve never raced overseas before. Racing against European and Asian champions here in China was incredible. After this, I’m determined to travel and race more!”

European champ Simon Chapelet also praised the scene:

“I didn’t expect so many downhill riders in China — especially older ones. The trail style is different from Europe, but that’s good. I hope to bring more European riders next time.”

A True Community Event — Ages 4 to 57

This year’s youngest rider was 4, and the oldest 57.

The event layout allowed all skill levels to participate while still offering world-class challenge for pros.

Feifan Mountain Bike World’s diverse trail system gave every rider — from kids to elites — a chance to find their own flow.

Event founder Xu Rong-Yu concluded:

“Thanks to all riders and sponsors for helping us bring the Two-Wheeler back to life. We hope to inspire more people to discover mountain biking and grow the culture together.”
