The GOAT Rides His Last World Cup in Lenzerheide!

On May 13, 1986, nobody could have known that a legend was born. Fast forward to 2004, he became Junior World Champion, and that was just the beginning. What followed was nothing short of historic: 36 World Cup victories, 9 Swiss Championship titles, 10 World Championship crowns, 9 overall UCI World Cup titles, and not to forget, 3 Olympic medals, in every color.

September 21, 2025, Nino Schurter rode his final World Cup in Lenzerheide, just a stone’s throw from his hometown of Chur. For the greatest of all time, it was the perfect place to close an unmatched chapter in mountain biking.

But is it the end of the adventure? Not at all. Nino has plans as big as his legacy. Together with two partners, he will continue shaping the sport by building innovative trails for hiking and biking. On the racing side, he’s shifting gears to Gravel: in 2026 you’ll find him competing in British Columbia, on Iceland, and hopefully at the iconic Traka in Girona, Spain. If fitness allows, he may even return to the Cape Epic in South Africa, pairing up again with Filippo Colombo. And of course, he’s looking forward to more precious time with his daughter.

So yes, we’ll still see Nino often, just not in the UCI World Cup starting gate. From all of us: thank you, Nino, and ride on!
