What is SCOTT Future Stars Program? SCOTT Future stars Program is designed to act as a tool of development for athletes. Through constant support & guidance, it is our initiative to enable young budding cyclists to emerge as the stars athletes of tomorrow. We believe that currently the Under 18 group forms the major chunk of cyclists which can show great progression at an early age if nurtured correctly. The SCOTT Future Stars program is a varied program consisting of support in form of top of the line Training equipment, Gears, Opportunities & Guidance. It is also a process of Identifying, Understanding & Shaping young talented gems of the industry. How is one selected?
We value passion & talent. Every SCOTT future star that is selected is as obsessed with the road, the trail and with every challenge and triumph that happens in the saddle as we are. We like to think that those who use our products are a lot like we are. They have the same sense of modest confidence that perfection is unattainable but there is no bigger thrill than trying to reach it. The SCOTT future stars program also aims to encourage SCOTT Future Stars to act as a role model for everybody in the industry. We are living the dream of better bicycling for a better world. An Introduction to our SCOTT Future Star Athlete
PIYUSH CHAVAN
There are some who just bike, and others who live to bike. SCOTT Future Star Piyush Chavan, an 18 year old downhill rider is one such classic example. He was born and raised in Pune, Maharashtra. Piyush today is currently considered as one of the Youngest & Fastest downhill riders across the country. Piyush rides a no compromise DH weapon, SCOTT Gambler 730. For his safety he looks up to the full faced SCOTT Spartan helmet specially designed to provide that added level of protection. Both Piyush and his bike are driven by the same philosophy- #noshortcuts “What's the point of waking up to a day that does not challenge you? And that's the main reason why I ride a bike. I believe in #noshortcuts”- Piyush Chavan Background He has always been very passionate about the sport of downhill mountain biking and is in it since the past seven years. Right from the start of his racing career till date Piyush has proven himself to be a quick learner & an outstanding performer. Piyush has been racing professionally since the past 4 years and since then every race that he enters motivates him to push harder and go that extra mile to crack great results. According to him the reason for this is because he does not do the sport with any majority. All he wants to do is, to be the fastest and the best! Due to hard work & potential Piyush has secured several positions on the podium. His thirst for mountain biking peaked after the 2012 BBCh Nationals where he won the third position and then won the first position in the following year (2013). Piyush has also participated in a few well known international races where he has managed to take the win among the fastest riders from Nepal and international riders at the Himachal DH trophy in Manali, July 2014. Year 2015 started off for him with his first race being the British downhill series round 2 at the world cup track of Fort William. According to Piyush this international race gave him a lot of inputs to a specific type of training regime that help him to compete at the European elite level. For this year, with persistence and dedication, Piyush aims to pin it to the podiums as a SCOTT future Star in all the National as well as International races planned for him. We can’t wait to see him on the race track! #scott2luvit #bikeonscott all photos: Tuhin Satarkar
